The Start
I discovered my love for candle making when I used the handmade process to help remedy my anxiety and depression due to a string of health issues. On Christmas 2019, I passed out in my brother's car while traveling to visit our mother for the holidays. When I woke up, I had been taken to the emergency room (ER) via ambulance. The ER doctors discovered I had three bleeding ulcers and cauterized them. The doctors also found that I had H. Pylori and I needed to follow up with a gastroenterologist.

Health Issues
I spent a few more days in the hospital and made it to my mom's house on December 30th (still feeling weak). I was too weak to travel 3 hours back home and between jobs, so I stayed at my mom's for a while to get back fully healthy. However, my health declined as the weeks went by. While treating H. Pylori, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The cancer diagnosis made me sad and hopeless. My anxiety and depression were overwhelming. I didn't know what to do, and even though I enjoyed making candles (because it's good for my mental health), it was the last thing I wanted to do. Eventually, I found the strength to fight back through radiation, exercise, and making candles again.

Non-Toxic
When I first started making scented candles, I used the same type of wax and fragrance oils most candlemakers use. But after being diagnosed with cancer, I wanted to ensure all the ingredients I use are free of hazardous chemicals, carcinogens, mutagens, phthalates, reproductive toxins, organ toxins, and acute toxins. Other candles can actually make you sick, but not mine.

De-stressing is a Health benefit
Candles can set the stage to de-stress and give yourself time to unwind.

"Leading medical experts estimate that 90% of disease is caused or complicated by stress. This epidemic of stress is a strong contributor to both high medical costs and poor medical outcomes."

Giving Back
My candles are good for your mind, body, and soul, and when you buy them, you're giving back and helping others (good for the soul).
